Healthy Care Tips
On World Polio Day, we raise awareness, advocate for action, and celebrate the strides toward eradicating polio worldwide. The Rotary Club invites you to join us in our mission to make polio history. Since 1988, the world has seen a 99.9% reduction in polio cases, thanks to collaborative efforts led by Rotary International, the World Health Organization, and partners within the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI).
**Why World Polio Day?**
World Polio Day, observed every October 24th, is a reminder of how close we are to achieving a polio-free world. Polio, a crippling and potentially fatal disease, mainly affects children under five. While there is no cure, vaccination offers complete protection, making immunization programs vital to ending this disease.
**How You Can Help**
1. **Raise Awareness** – Share the message about polio eradication and the importance of vaccination. Social media, events, and conversations are powerful ways to spread the word.
2. **Donate** – Financial contributions support vaccine distribution, healthcare workers, and essential resources in areas where polio remains a threat. Every dollar counts and brings us closer to a world without polio.
3. **Engage Locally** – Join our events, become a Rotary member, or volunteer with us to make a tangible impact.
**Our Commitment to End Polio**
The Rotary Club has been at the forefront of the fight against polio for decades, and we won’t stop until polio is eliminated for good. Let’s unite, educate, and take action on World Polio Day. Together, we can ensure a future free from polio for generations to come.
